So, you have signed up for the Cint invitation only GroupQuality survey tool free account, and you have decided to use Cint to source respondents (people) for your online survey.
You have set up your survey, and you are being asked to send a link to the Cint project team, and they are using phrases like incidence rates, length of the survey, passing tokens, identifiers (IDs) and you have no idea what to do next.
If you follow the process outlined here, you will be able to get up as soon as possible.
First of all, you should know the limitations of your free survey account and how to upgrade.
Next, to determine the cost of survey responses, you will need the following information:
- You need to know who your target market/ audience – who are you targeting?
- How long the survey takes to complete, allow approximately 30 seconds per question.
- The number of completed surveys that you need.
Cint will need to estimate ‘The incident rate’, which is a measure of how many people they will need to reach to be able to get the number of survey completes from the targeted group. For, example, if they go out to 1000 people to get 500 completes it is considered a 50% Incident Rate (IR). The lower the IR, the greater the cost so it pays to make the respondent (people segment) requirements too specific.
If you focus on creating the survey first, you will need to know how long it takes and you will get a better idea of overall cost.
Tip: Make your survey a screenings surveys type when creating your survey it makes sure you can report on those who get screened out of your survey because they did not qualify (you can do this is step one of survey creation).
When creating you survey make sure under the “Participants” section in the survey creation process, you tick the ‘This is an intercept survey’ check box (as shown below). By selecting the box, you will be able to produce a survey website link once you have started the survey.
You will also be required to add in need redirect links which direct the completion or screen-out pages to the Cint system so that they can keep track of your surveys progress.
Please Note: The Cint project team will provide you with some unique urls and ask you to pass tokens, but this is not compatible with the GoupQuality system, so you will be requested to provide a list of respondent IDs once the survey is complete.
You will need to let the team know you will not be passing back Token links to Cint.
The links you can include:
- Redirect link - Complete: https://s.cint.com/Survey/Complete
- Redirect link - Early screen-out: https://s.cint.com/Survey/EarlyScreenOut
- Redirect link - Quota full: https://s.cint.com/Survey/QuotaFull
- Start your survey and start your survey to test.
- Make sure you test it in full before supplying the link to Cint to check.
Adding the required code to capture response IDs & reporting
When providing the survey link to Cint for testing, you will need to tell the Cint project management team to put the following on the end of the survey link: ‘?sid=[ID]’ This little bit of code will capture the respondent token from their system. You will be able to see this in the ‘Participants results’ tab once you start to receive responses.
You can use the ‘CSV’ button on the top right of this page to download a view of what you see on the screen. Under the colunm called "Source ID" you should see a string of letters and numbers which is the ID passed back to your survey from the Cint panel, this is what you need to supply the project team.
What you can and cannot edit once you have started a survey
Once you have started the survey you can only edit the text you cannot add, remove or extend question options. Locking down survey questions are necessary to protect the integrity of the data. To make changes, we recommend you copy the survey make the changes and resend the link to Cint for checking. You will then need to re-enter the Cint page redirects as described above.
