If you have enabled the option to allow participants to leave video comments using the video recording tool, participants will see an additional video recorder button just below the comments box.
Selecting the video recording button the recording widget will appear for the Participant or the Moderator.
Please note: The self recording widget requires Flash version 11.0 or higher to be installed on the participant's and moderator's computer.
Once the video widget appears the participant or moderator must select the "Allow" button to permit the video widget to talk to the computer's audio and or video web camera.
Please note: if you are using Google Chrome you must follow the extra step of selecting the "Allow" Button presented to the right and just below the Google Chrome control bar.
Once given permission access your video and audio the microphone sound check tool will be shown.
Move the slider to the right, while talking, until the blue bar is bouncing to the right side of the black line above.
You can also choose an alternative microphone available to you from the drop down menu, but only if the one selected is not the one you wish to use.
Please note: it may take a few seconds to connect you back to the server before you can hear the sound again.
Once the microphone volume has been adjusted select the green Done button.
Selecting the blue recording button will activate a 3 second counter which will count down to the activation of the camera and audio recording.
The recording allows for a maximum of 2 minutes for each video comment and one video recording is permitted for each comment.
Once the video has been activate the control will change as shown below.
On completion of the recording select the blue Stop button.
The video recorded will be played back to check the volume and picture quality. If you wish to record over this recording, simply stop the playback by selecting the blue Stop button as shown below and select the recording button.
If you wish to save the recording made select the blue Save to disk button on the far right of the controls.
The video will then be displayed below the comment box ready to be submitted, you may then add text to the comment box and submit the comment to the discussion.
