To capture participants from the tail-end of a survey, or from your website, or from an email link, follow this process to create a unique link to direct participants to.
To create a discussion board registration login link and page you must make sure that you have selected the "is intercept board" option when setting up your discussion.
Step1: Select the maximum number of participants you would like to allow for self-registration. You can also choose to include the a "Captcha" anti-spam fields which will ask participants to retype a set of words to confirm they are not a malicious automated spam bots.
Please note: the intercept link will not be displayed until you have selected to start the discussion board.
Once you have started the discussion the link will be displayed. Use this link to send to individuals, post online or use a screening survey to recruit participants in real-time.
The link that is available also provides the option of tagging the persons registration with a Source identifier. This can be anything that can be passed form the link origin (such as the survey tool) to the discussion board using the special source code at the end of the link.
For example, a link might look like this:
https://discussions.groupquality.com/%$%$^%*%/my board/?source=my-survey-id-added-after-the-equal-sign
At the end of you link you must add the ?source= after this you can place you identifier which maybe dynamically generated and linked to the participants survey response.
Once a participant visits the link they will be shown the registration page. The registration page will ask the participant's for their first name, last name, email address and to repeat the email address (email address is used send the details and a primary method of communication).
Please note: you have the option to include a 'Capture form' to ensure that the registration is completed by a real person and not a machine. Use this option if you are posting the link online.
Once the registration form is submitted the participant will be shown the registration confirmation page.
The participant will be sent an email with the discussion login address (url) and their secure username and password for the discussion board.
The email can be edited in the discussion boards communications editor by editing the invitation email.
Once you have reached the number of specified participants, those who access the registration page will be shown a short thank-you message informing them the group has reached its maximum number of participants and registration is now closed.
