The following is designed to improve participant activity management.
This is split into two areas:
- Administration and Moderator Participant management
- Participant comment tracking workspace view (Social and Classic template)
Administration & Moderator Participant Management
When sending out invitation, reminders and reset passwords we added in participant tracking for those emails to inform you of the real-time success of email sends.
The email tracking is in real-time and to see updates you can either refresh the page or leave the "Participants" tab and come back to view the update.
The following status messages will be shown at the end of Invitations, Password Reset, Reminders:
- "processed" = being queued for sending
- "delivered" = has been received by the participation emails service and is in the inbox.
- "open"= has been opened by the email client or the participant manually opened the email title.
- "clicked" = the participant has actively clicked a link in the email such as the login link.
- "bounced" = the email bounced form the participants email service due to an incorrect email or their email box was full.
- "dropped" = bad email address.
The current status of the emails is displayed in the email "Status" column on the "Participants" section of the discussions manage area.
In the above view under the "Last Active" column their is a new link: "Activity". Clicking this link will open up the Participant topic activity window. The Activity window will give you a break down of the Participant's most recent comment activity.
It will display the Order of the Topics, the ID of the topic as it appears in the "Plan Manager", the "Discussion Topic Name" the number of comments and replies added to the topic. The "Post Date" shows the latest activity for that topic by the individual participant you are looking at.
Please Note: when a topic is posted and there are no comments for that participant it will show the post date and time of the topic. When a participant you are viewing comments or replies on a topic it will show you the last date and time that participant posted a comment and reply on that topic. For example, in the image below Steven posted a comment on the "my plan 1" on the 31st of July at 11:22am.

To improve participant self tracking of topic completion there is an indicator for the participant in the workspace area. The update includes a column in the topic listing section for both the Classic and Social templates. the column named "Your comments" shows the number of comments added by the participant logged-in. They will now be able to see if they have added a comment on the topic and the total comments where applicable.
In the Social template the participant will also see a green tick next to those topics listed on the right hand bar where they have added at least one comment.
The participant comment tracking is only available on the Social template on the mobile device. In addition of being able to see the additional column they will also be able to see the green ticks next to the topic name for those topics they have added a comment while on any page.
